Breast Ultrasound
This exam utilizes high frequency ultrasound waves to assess masses felt by physical exam or seen on a mammogram. Hence, the exam is considered a targeted, rather than a screening exam. It is most frequently used to distinguish cyst (>98% chance benign ) from a solid ( 5-25% cancerous {age and hereditary dependent})mass.
